Episode 26

Danae Hays - Genuine, Hilarious, Gay As A Football Bat - The Live Anniversary Show

Comedian and singer Danae Hays was the perfect guest for the one year anniversary show. Recorded live at Trauma Therapy Nashville's office with JB Somers returning to play his music, it was a beautiful night.

Danae shared the unfiltered story of her life. Growing up in a home where her identity wasn't embraced, she opens up about the struggles, including encounters with Christian therapists arranged by her parents and how that further confused her for years of childhood and lead to severe anxiety and OCD. Mixed with funny retellings of her career in real estate and making her way to becoming an amazing performer, she's now skyrocketing to success.

Danae speaks about the profound impact of her wife's love and patience. This episode is not just laughs and anecdotes but a genuine exploration of self-love and authenticity. Danae Hays lays bare her journey, reminding us all that embracing who we are is a triumph worth celebrating. Of course there was crying.

Hi, Im Melanie! I am a student and teacher of the human condition. My work as a trauma therapist, my personal healing journey and spirituality have been my source(s) of wisdom. I believe we all have everything we need to heal inside of us. My role as a therapist and fellow human, is to provide space and opportunity to help others connect back to this internal wisdom. We are our own healers!

I'm excited to contribute to this project and help create a deeper conversation around mental health and how humor can be both a mask to our pain and a way through it. I hope these conversations resonate and you enjoy them as much as we did! Much love - Melanie
